Memory lane. A while back, I was thrown into central booking for some petty stuff. This is a snapshot of that story. The protagonist is hungover from a disappearing New York of yesteryear; a grittier time. This sterilized “new” New York has him caught. While I was locked up the cops roughed me up and took my vital medicine (orange drink). Lack of nourishment from the medicine coupled with the experience had me hallucinating - tripping on the concept of prison in general. It seems like such a medieval system of punishment that needs either complete reform or complete destruction. Where would we be without wishful thinking?

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass.
